On top of the world is how I felt as we climbed to see the view from the top of Bonticou Crag at the Mohonk Preserve.
As it was Fathers Day, I reflected at the top of my Papa who would have been so nervous by knowing I made this climb. He was scared of heights and anything that could even scratch his Bubba.
At first I too was intimidated by the reviews of the hike which describes the rock scramble to the top as challenging. Stuck in between was a review that spoke of an alternate less strenuous route to the top. That’s the one we chose and it was well worth the jaunt.
Come early as the lot is small and necessitates either a Mohonk Preserve pass by person or $15 pp.
This is a non-promotional blog. I am not a photographer nor am I selling anything through this blog. Professionally I am a Business Transformation Specialist focused on gaining efficiencies and reducing costs for major corporations. Recent life experiences made me better appreciate the present and all that can be seen by increasing my focus and attention on my surroundings. I always enjoyed going out and exercising and I would look but I did not see as my attention was on resolving some problem. Captured through pictures and sharing insights about various locations, I hope others can enjoy my research and insights and allow themselves to pause a few moments and truly appreciate and learn new things. When you follow me that is my gift. To know I have touched you enough to want to follow the blog.
