Down the road from the grandiose Case Mountain Falls, a bit off the beaten path, is another set of falls worth finding. While the parking lot was full at Case Mountain, I decided to try and find Wyllys Falls down the road. An intentional but unmarked path can be found beside a guard rail. GoContinue reading “CT: Hartford County-Manchester- Wyllys Falls”

CT: Hartford County- Manchester- Case Mountain Falls
5 stone archways make up the bridge. Part natural and part man made by the Case family who owned a paper mill. You can walk right up almost into one of the archways peering at the water behind! I found a painted rock, “Brave” as I continue to climb the rocks for a better shot.Continue reading “CT: Hartford County- Manchester- Case Mountain Falls”
CT: Fairfield County- Rowayton- The Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood (Sunset)
Being a gal from New York City, I admit, I can be a bit of a city snob when it comes to a nice restaurant. Seating can be indoor or out, seated or by boat! The food was delicious and I felt good about going forContinue reading “CT: Fairfield County- Rowayton- The Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood (Sunset)”

Inspiration: Rejuvenation
My work day starts early. I’ve learned to schedule a 10 minute work break at the time of the morning sunrise. It’s different every day in so many ways: The time it rises; The placement of the sun; The colors of the sky; The reflections of the light; the shapes of the clouds. It rejuvenatesContinue reading “Inspiration: Rejuvenation”

This 10-12 mile ride in Guilford providedContinue reading “CT: New Haven County- Guilford (Bike 10, Hike, Eat!)”
CT: Hartford County- West Hartford- Elizabeth Park (Winter)
Elizabeth Park is a municipal park in Hartford/West Hartford and is on the National Registry of Historic Places. For one week in the beginning of Spring the Conservancy hosts a springs bulb show in the greenhouse. As I was in the area I stopped by to take a quick peek. Most impressive was that theContinue reading “CT: Hartford County- West Hartford- Elizabeth Park (Winter)”
CT: New Haven County-New Haven- Yale (Walk)
After so many years, my first walk around the Yale campus felt like a trip to London. One fun activity is to locate the four secret societies of Yale. One pictured above is “Book and Snake.” Fortunately for me my cousin was familiar with them. With the pandemic most quads and museums were unavailable toContinue reading “CT: New Haven County-New Haven- Yale (Walk)”
